MULTILATERAL BOOKS

The future of UK-LatAm collaborations is found in the alignment of the people signing the contract.

Slot v. Flow™ is the system that builds that alignment. A precise map of how British and Latin American professionals think, communicate, and make decisions — and the tools to navigate the gap between them.

You already know something is being lost in the room

You've done the preparation. You know your brief. You've worked internationally before.

The meeting feels aligned.  The follow-up goes quiet.

The relationship that felt warm doesn't convert. The decision that seemed close keeps receding.

The gap is structural. Both sides are operating on different professional instincts — around time, trust, conversation, and space. Neither can see the other's.

Most professionals adapt by instinct, accumulate scar tissue, and call it experience. Slot v. Flow™ is the map they never had.

What the Slot v. Flow™ Systems give you

The Slot System™

How British professional culture structures time, communication, and decision-making, decoded for professionals coming from the Flow side.

The Flow System™

How Latin American professional culture builds trust, signals agreement, and moves through a relationship, decoded for professionals coming from the Slot side.

The 4 Dimensions

Where the friction lives: temporal, spatial, relational, conversational. Each chapter applies both systems to one dimension, with real situations, precise analysis, and tools you can use in your next meeting.

ABOUT CECILIA

10 years. Over 1000 high-stakes rooms.

For over a decade, I interpreted for Latin American heads of state, ministers, and executive delegations visiting the UK — including HM King Charles III when HRH The Prince of Wales, Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Lord David Cameron as Foreign Secretary. I was inside more than a hundred high-stakes British-LatAm meetings, word by word, in real time.

I watched deals stall without either side understanding why. I observed trust built in twenty minutes over a meal and lost in five over a misread silence.

The Slot v. Flow™ Systems came from that decade. This is the book I never found when I needed it.

The gap between what was said and what was understood is costing you. It is also, with the right systems, entirely fixable.

WHAT'S INSIDE

What the book covers

Slot v. Flow™ is built around the two systems and the four dimensions where British-LatAm friction most consistently appears. Each chapter applies the systems to a specific dimension, with real situations and tools you can use immediately.

*The Slot System™ and The Flow System™ What the two systems are, where they come from, and why understanding both is the precondition for everything else. The structural difference between how British and Latin American professionals approach time, trust, conversation, and space.

*The Temporal Dimension How time, deadlines, and momentum work differently on each side. Why 'soon' means different things in London and Mexico City. How to anchor Flow momentum to a Slot timeline without damaging the relationship. The technique for leaving every meeting with a shared 'now'.

*The Spatial Dimension How presence, proximity, eye contact, and channel choice shape what gets communicated before anyone speaks. Why walking away in anger looks like engagement in one culture and disengagement in another. What your body is already saying in a British-LatAm room.

*The Relational Dimension How trust is built, tested, and lost. The difference between low-value rapport and high-value trust moves. Why The Season matters for LatAm visitors to London. How to invest in relationship before it's needed.

*The Conversational Dimension How information is approached and agreement is signalled, how face is protected, and how to read what is actually being said. The Globish gap. The yes that wasn't. How to close a British-LatAm meeting with shared meaning rather than shared assumptions.
