Three ways to get ready

Some trips just need a quick check before you go. Others call for a proper toolkit you can work through on your own time. And some need me across the table with you, walking the actual meeting before it happens. Start with what's coming up, then pick the format that matches it.

The Checklist

You've built the agenda, briefed the delegation, and locked the itinerary. None of that tells you which meeting on it is about to go sideways, or why. The Checklist finds that out before you fly, not after. You'll land on the two or three moments worth a second look, and what to do about each one before the delegation leaves the ground.

Free. Ten minutes. No login.

The Field Kit

You can be fluent in the other language and well-briefed and still miss what's actually happening in the room. That's the gap the British-LatAm Field Kit closes. It’s built on the same systems as Slots v. Loops™, packaged to use immediately.

One masterclass (30 micro-lessons, under 2 hours, at your pace) and four guides, light enough to go over before walking through the door.

The Bilateral

You worked hard to get this meeting on the calendar. The Bilateral makes sure that effort doesn't go to waste once you're in the room. You don't have to prove your Spanish, or your English, to be taken seriously in it. Nobody's parsing your grammar, because you're not the one doing the talking. I am.

The Brief

Knowing what's actually happening in a British-LatAm interaction before you walk in is half the job. You bring the meeting, the negotiation, the relationship, the moment that's coming up. I apply the Slots v. Loops™ systems to it: what your counterpart is expecting and where the friction is, and how to move through it without losing ground.

A focused 90-minute session built around your specific situation.

'Without doubt, Cecilia is the best interpreter I have been able to work with. She is highly skilled, very professional and flexible; and has successfully interpreted high authorities including our President and International Trade Minister.'

My Multilateral Way

Six rules I set years ago, when interpreting was the only thing I did. They've held up, so I made room for what Multilateral Studio has grown into.

1- Be useful

Whether it’s for one day or for five years, I'm on your team. Every session, every system, every book should leave you better equipped than it found you.

2- Be respectful

Good manners, obviously. But also respect for your work, your goals, and your organisation's culture. I don't parachute in with my own agenda.

3- Be discreet

The Othello Principle still holds. What happens in the room stays there. That's not a policy, it's the whole job.

4- Be attentive

The friction that costs you a deal usually lives in a detail nobody's named. I see it before it costs you anything.

 5- Be fair and transparent

Pricing, scope, conflicts of interest: all on the table, all the time. Transparency is how I work better, with you.

 6- Be curious

Two decades in these rooms and I still learn something new in most of them. The day I stop is the day I stop being useful to you.
